American Amber Ale is a style coined by American brewers in the 1980s to describe beers that were amber or red in color, showcasing caramel or toffee malt character and American hops. In many ways, American Amber Ales bridge the gap between American Pale Ales and American Brown Ales, and often share characteristics with these styles.
Red Dwarf has a well-balanced caramel malt flavor and complex hop profile, lending a citrusy, floral flavor and aroma. The finish is clean and dry. This beer is a perfect companion to virtually every meal.

Can on MV. Pours clear copper-gold with a creamy, off-white head. Light to medium sweet flavour with pleasant toasted biscuits, citrus pee accents, toasted pine, nips of caramel. Light to medium bodied with massaging carbonation. Balanced finish, lightly resinous but still drying, more sun-kissed malts, citrus peel. Tasty.

Sample glass at Growler Garage, South Burlington, VT.
The appearance was a semi-clear amber color with a nice transparencey allowing some carbonation to be seen rising at an appropriate pace.
The smell started off with some roasty nuts, light toffee and a little bit of caramel. Light grassy hops slide in to balance nicely.
The taste was mainly sweet through the previously mentioned flavors adding a spark of bitter to sweet grassy hops to balance. Toffee to caramel aftertaste with a dry sweet finish.
On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium in body with a decent sessionable feel about it. Carbonation seems to run nicely. Nice bitterness runs in but isn’t overbearing.
Overall, nice amber ale with some bitterness for flavor. I’d have again.
