Unfiltered, unpasteurized, and uninhibited, Hardywood Singel is sunshine golden with a fluffy white head and a veil of Belgian ale yeast. A delicate body ushers tropical fruit esters into perfect balance with spicy hop aromatics. Singel’s mellow, dry finish culminates a truly ethereal experience.

From tap at Speciaalbiercafé De Markies, Leeuwarden. Aroma is pale malt, spicy yeast, clove, some nutmeg, mild fruity with a hoppy touch. Flavour is above moderate sweet and bitter. Body is medium. Okay spicy Belgian style beer.

Bottled. Hazy golden colour with a minor white head. Aroma and flavour are spicy, some crisp and sweet malts along with some zesty and mild citrusy notes. Also a bit grainy and cardboardy notes to it.

Draft at Hardywood. Hazy golden pour, thin white foamy head. Big, full bready aroma, sourdough, Belgian yeast. Taste is malty and yeasty, clove, cardamom, handsoap. Creamy feel, slick.

Bottle. Love the stubby. Lemony nose, crackery malt, spicy yeast. flavor is yeast spice, cirsp malt, and a dry bitter finish. Nice, not up there with the best of the Belgian made ones, but good and not overdone in any way.

12oz bottle from the brewery. Spicy, herbal, a little odd aroma. Filtration keeps the body really clean, but also take away some of that yeasty, bready, creaminess. Drinkable enough, OK.

Bottle - pours a lightly hazy gold - flavor is lightly bitter, lightly spicy, mostly dry - also tastes like lightly skunky hops - watery texture - stale graininess - lame.

2/1/2021. Bottle courtesy of SHIG, cheers! Pours clear pale gold with a small bubbly/frothy white head. Aroma of fruits, yeast, malt, caramel, soap and a metallic edge. Medium plus sweetness, light bitterness. Moderate body, oily texture, average to soft carbonation. touch of spice to finish. Not as keen on this as I have been most other Hardywood beers.

Bottle from total wine in st pete. Off pale and slightly hazy. Aroma is a little sweet; surprizingly sweet but not cloying. Taste is just a tad bitter but not enough to interfere with the session, just different and unique. Has a tad of that whisky feel to it. Some spice seems to come thru in the middle, something almost like hefe. Pretty co2 within. Seems to be a cross between a wheat ale and a hefe, no lie. Not sure if I would call this a belgian ale tho. Seems to hide the 6+% fairly well.
