Sometimes you awaken from a dream. Sometimes you wake up in a dream. And sometimes you wake up in someone else’s dream. Fortunately, it is only a farmhouse ale or saison, where the fermentation is quick and exciting at high temperatures, enabling the synthesis of the typical esters. These offer complex fruity aromas and a spicy flavour. We used solely Slovenian hops: Celeia this time.

A very well made clean drinkable saison. The brett is perfect for a saison that isn’t so dry. So there are some residual sugars, but this doesn’t hurt it so much. Craftbeer bar hamburg

Bottle 330ml. @ home on the small terrace.

[ As Reservoir Dogs Incub ].
ABV: 6.0%. Hazy - murky medium orange yellow colour with a average to large, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, white to off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, wheat, moderate yeasty, horse blanket, yeast, saison yeast, citrus, spicy. Flavor is moderate sweet, light light acidic and light bitter with a average to long duration, saison yeast, sour fruit - sour yeast, citrus, farmyard, lemony, spicy - peppery - white pepper, yeast, sharp, icing. Body is medium, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is soft. Did get it clear puur also, aroma and flavor is mainly the same, but with the yeast it gets more mealow and more balanced and not as sharp as it was clear (w/o the yeast). [20200614]

Slovenia’s foremost new craft brewer’s interpretation of the old Belgian saison, thanks Davor! Mousy, medium thick, snow white head quickly thinning in the middle and lacing in shreds over an initially near-clear ‘old gold’ coloured beer with warmer peachy-orangey hue, hazy with sediment. Aroma of fresh mandarin, orange juice even, light unripe banana, sweetbread, some unfortunate background DMS, moist white pepper, freshly cut red apples, sweetclover, cake. Fruity, crisp onset, apple, raw pineapple and a light dash of banana, sweetish with a sourish undertone accentuated by sharp, fizzy carbonation but acceptable for the intended style. Slick sweetbready, cereally malt body, smooth and restrainedly sweetish, with a floral, peppery and mildly citrusy hop bitterness in the end lingering a bit amidst ongoing fruity esters and that vague DMS accent returning. Elegant, slim and very accessible, more a Belgian style blonde than anything else but admittedly the boundary between simply ‘blonde’ and saison is seriously blurred these days – if saison can technically be regarded as a separate style at all. Still, in attempting to evoke Belgian ale culture, this is very successful, albeit it clearly more sweet-citrusy than average. Too bad for that whiff of DMS, otherwise a very decent old school Belgian saison-ish ale for sure.

Bottle 33 cl. Pours an almost clear golden with a creamy, white head. Lovely, spicy, yeasty aroma. Medium body, very soft on the palate, again yeasty but in a smooth way and very fruity. Dry finish. Very pleasant and easy drinking. 250718
