Bottle 0.33l from our archive. Cloudy, copper colored. AROMA- caramel, dark fruit, plum. FLAVOR- lightly sweet, moderately bitter, warming, caramel, dark fruit, alcohol. Full bodied. Somewhat monotonous and insipid.

0.33l bottle from beergeek Praha. Amber color with medium white head. Aroma: red berries, caramel, raisins. Taste: caramel, biscuits, diacetyl, alcohol presence. Quite disappointing, one would expect much more from barley wine.

(Draught at Beer Geek Bar, Prague, 21 April 2018) Dark reddish amber colour with lasting, dense, beige head. Malty nose with notes of caramel, toffee, black-currant and treacle-toffee. Malty taste with dried fruit, apricots, caramel, toffee, black-currant, roasted malt, burnt sugar and a balanced earthy/spicy bitterness in the finish. Full body, chewy mouthfeel, with a certain sweetness. Tasty and warming, with some alcohol shining through. Overall fairly well balanced. Nice one.

Bottle at 100 piv shared with Zlotta. Pretty ruby amber color, thick beige head. Aroma has plums raisins caramel. Taste is fruity caramel. A big beer but tasty

Sampled from 0.33 l bottle at '100 pív', best before January 2019. Almost clear, dark reddish amber with a medium large, frothy, almost stable, off-white head. Sweetish-malty, slightly fruity aroma of strawberry jam, caramel, some orange peel and a touch of molasses. Quite sweet, malty, slightly fruity taste of caramel, molasses, raisins and some strawberry jam, followed by a medium long, moderately bitter, slightly boozy and warming finish. Medium to full body, almost creamy mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Good!

Draught @ Beergeek Bar, Prague. Pours dark golden with a offwhite head, lacings. Aroma of sweet malt, caramel, light bread, sweet dried fruit, sweet apples, plums, light alcohol. Flavor is sweet, light bitter, malt, caramel, dried fruit, apples, plum, alcohol, wood. Medium to full body, soft to average carbonation, sweet and light bitter finish with warming alcohol. 290318

Tap at Damián. Pours reddish with thick head. Aroma is decent but not really remarkable. Alcohol is well hidden, but still you know this is not easy one. Two butts in one rating, wow. Sounds like an intro to bad porn but yep. It's a beer, not great, not bad, something in between.
