Notes from 1989. From tap. Ruby brown color. Aroma’s: roasted, caramel malts, sweet. Flavor: moderate sweet with a light sourness. Medium bodied. Moderate bitter finish. Not quite right.

From tap (PINT BBF 09): Clear, deep ruby amber coloured, small beige lacy foam; wuite restrained nose, of burnt malt and caramel with a subtle fruitiness underneath; light sweet-bitter flavour, very light bodied for a beer of 6.5%; shorter sweetish caramelly and bitter finish. Not a real gem.........

Draught at De Bekeerde Suster as Leeuw Bockbier. Weak raisiny aroma. Almost black colour, clear red shine. Nice creamy brown head. The flavour is sweet, caramelly, winegummy, teaish, fruity. Has some iron, metal, vitamin pill. Nicely bready mouthfeel and finish. Strange but nice.

Bottle. Nice dark brown appearance, good head. Aroma of chocolate, roasted malts and some skunkiness. Taste is watery, metallic, roasted malts, sugar, some skunk. Not very good actually.

(Bottle 30 cl) Reddish, almost reddish brown, with a very small, brownish head. Spicy notes of....cinnamon. Also spices in the flavour. But not heavy and sweet, more dry with a surprisingly light body for it’s strength and hence a rather unusual Bock. Reminds me a bit of a Flemish Sour - without the sourness! Nice one. 060703

Clear dark red color. Good balance between malts, hops, bitterness and sweetness. Decent bock.
