Cask. Amber colour with a small slightly off-white head. Aroma is nutty, wooden, mildly resiny as well as some toffeeish and sweet malty notes. Flavour is rather similar in a very easy to drink way. Yet quite bodied, for being only 4 %.

Bottle from Malt & Vine. Pours hazy copper with a foamy off-white head. Aroma is very fruity - peach/apricot. Near medium body with mildly foamy carbonation. Flavor starts peach and does end woody/nutty. Flavors are so mild, and they seem to wear out the nose abilities, so the flavor goes down in intensity, leaving some peachy fruity hop bitter. Still itโs a damn good ale.

Bottle 50cl. @ home.Clear medium amber orange color with a large, frothy, good lacing, fully lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, caramel, moderate hoppy, flowers, citrus, light yeasty. Flavor is moderate sweet, light acidic and moderate bitter with a average duration. Body is medium to light, texture is watery to oily, carbonation is soft. [20090304]

Bottled. Hazy orange color, big frothy head. Soft aroma of some hop and malt. Reasonable bitter taste, some caramel. Nothing special.

Cask at The Anchor Inn, Oakerthorpe, Derbyshire. Amber in colour with a white head; fruity taste and a clean bitter finish. A fairly basic bitter, not as interesting as some of the other Cropton brews.

An orange beer with a thin beige head. The aroma is lovely sweet with notes of hops and fruits. The flavor is sweet with a good hop presence, but also notes of caramel and hints of citrus from the hops, leading to a dry end.

Beautiful amber color. Very nice aroma, malty and fruity, with some hops. Reasonable body structure, malty. Quite hoppy (good English hops) but a touch of sourness, probably a light infection.

(Bottle 50 cl) Unclear - unclean - with floating, yeasty impurities and a gigantic head that simply continues to float out of the bottle for several minutes. Lovely fruity nose. Rather light body, somewhat flat. Weak notes of nuts and plenty of fruit. Vague citrusy tartness and a short bitterness. Absolutely drinkable. 231205

Sampled cask conditioned. Amber coloured. Fuggle hop aroma. Malty and fruity. Big, delicate maltiness, medium to low bitterness. I just love the beatiful malt profile. This is a well balanced, remarkable bitter.
