Hopslam one of my top triple IPAs, I'm interested to see what Bell's does with a NE version. Snifter ready, I tilt the 16 oz can into the glass. Translucent yellow-gold body with a huge white head that disappears quickly. The nose is inviting, citrus, tropical effect, lightly hoppy, what is there not to like? The taste is comparable with the scent. Apricots, white bread, pine, pineapple, malt and a touch of grapefruit. Decent enough, touches all the bases but does not rise above. I thought it would break out.

16 ounce can from Trenton Road Takeout. Clear, medium gold pour. Large, firm white head. Excellent lacing. Mild tropical fruit aroma. First sip brings bittersweet hop flavor. Notes of grapefruit, pineapple, lime and pine. Big bitterness throughout.

Pours a lightly hazy, pale golden yellow, with big, thick head. Aroma has a lot of tropical fruit notes, some citrus, some bread. Flavors are a bit more toned-down, but with tropical fruit and bread predominant. Clean, crisp mouthfeel. Mild levels of hop bitterness in the finish.

16oz can. Pretty solid - weird drinking a spin off on a once iconic beer. there was a time Hopslam was the GOAT. Still pretty darn good

Clear orange-bronze pour with a medium off-white head that diminishes steadily to a film. Short strings of lacing. Aroma of citrusy hops, tropical fruit and malt. Medium to full body with flavors of grapefruity hops, honeyed tropical fruit and biscuit malt. The finish is mildly bitter with a fruity hop aftertaste. Not as good as the original but pretty enjoyable overall.

Pint can. Passion fruit aroma with notes of pineapple, mango, grapefruit, tangerine and floral hops. Pours clear golden colored with a large off white head that has excellent retention and good lacing. Starts with passion fruit, mango and tangerine hop flavors. Finishes smooth but a touch dry with pineapple, grapefruit and floral hop flavors. Pretty good.

Bought at Wyoming Discount Liquor in Casper. Best before November 9th 2025.
It pours a mostly clear pale gold with an ample head of foam, good retention and lacing.
The smell is grapefruit citrus, light tropical fruit, some caramel malt.
The taste is pretty nicely balanced..not overly sweet malt presence, not overly bitter presence of bitter hops, nice fairly lightly done tropical fruit so it has the bare minimum of dankness, which I appreciate.
Rather fullish body, resinous, coating the tongue. 9.0% abv is barely noticeable.
Yeah, I will drink this again.

Disappointed that Bell’s used the Hopslam name on this beer; seems to me to be a marketing gimmick. Beer is okay but there is nothing hitting my taste buds to remind me of Hopslam.
