Export-only, kräusened version of the Výčepní. Do not confuse with the 5% Kroužek / Kroužkovaný Ležák, do not confuse it with unfiltered or zwickeled regular Budweiser Budvar.

A delicate blend of fresh, unfiltered lager and a batch that’s fully matured with a beautifully hazy gold colour, and a satisfyingly rich, deep flavour.

Our Kräusened lager (pronounced Kroy-Zened) is everything you’d expect from a golden lager with a fuller and crisper feel. Krausening is the time honoured way brewing bohemians would finish their beers. It is unfiltered, unpasteurised and matured in our cellars. We then add some freshly fermenting Budweiser Budvar original to kick start a second fermentation before it goes into kegs. In doing so the beer continues to ferment adding a softer, natural carbonation and finishing drier and cleaner as the fresh yeast works its magic in the beer.

Formerly B:Krausened and Budvar Kräusened.

Keg at Pivo - London. Pours clear Gold with a creamy, white head. A little odd, has some cereal, corn, strange floral notes, pale grain, light bitter grass, yeast, a little dough. Light bodied with average carbonation. Finishes with more pale grains, yeast, straw. So so.

Half-pint by keg, shared with Finn at Euston Tap. Huge white head to a misty yellow-gold body, lacing rings down the glass. Smell of herbal hops and bread. Mid-sweet malty flavours, distant notes of noble hops. Rounded pale malty ending. Fair enough. (London 07.02.2020)

Delt med Rune. Gylden. Nesten klar. Høyt kritthvitt luftig skum som daler sake. God smørmaltaroma. Smaken balansert. Smørmalten dominerer også smaken. Lett tørr & bitter avslutning.

[On tap at the Waterloo Tap, Waterloo.] A straw coloured pour with a loose white head; floral aroma; light grainy taste; and a grassy finish. Pleasant but nothing more.
