Some brewers take shortcuts. They kettle sour, toss in some fruit purée, and call it a Berliner Weisse. But not us. Oh no. We do it the old-school way, the right way, the classically-crafted way.
Ours is a slow, patient labor of love, fermented with brewer’s yeast, lactobacillus, and brettanomyces - three microscopic maestros conducting a delicate, funky symphony. And just when you think the show is over, we hit it with a lively can conditioning that gives it the effervescence worthy of its legendary nickname: The Champagne of the North!

On tap at GLB, pours a clear blonde with a tiny white head. Aroma has lacto, gentle sugars, and a touch of citrus. Flavour is very dry, with light lacto, seltzery notes, and straw. Very dry, seltzery palate. Good but not particularly authentic.

Looking forward to this one! Can from the brewery. Pour is a light blonde with thick white head that disappears. Nose is a light funk. This being only a 3.8%, it did feel a little thin, but that's almost to be expected. Really nice, fresh light crispness with some funkiness. Flavors of apricots some dirty socks over a very light straw malt. For a session beer, it's really quite nice, don't expect a meaty, aserbic Berliner, you'll be disappointed. I appreciate the lack of fruit.
