Dark brown in colour with fantastic ruby highlights and a thin white head. Aroma of roasted malt, oatmeal and a bit of sweetness from chocolate esters. Medium to Light-bodied; Strong roasty malt flavour with a bit of sweetness. Overall, a good beer. It needs a bit of work, but definately worth a try when it's available on Cask! I had this pint served from a Cask at proper temperature at the Old Toad in Rochester, New York and sampled on 15-September-2003.

On tap at the brewery.
Disclaimer: Though served at the brewery, the brewery is unheated for the most part and in February this renders the beer a little chilly when poured. Dark coffee brown; chocolate, nuts, brown bread crust, toasted hops in the aroma. Light body but good flavour development (same stuff as in the aroma). A little astringent in the finish.
