A key beer in the craft beer revolution. IPAs were originally made in the 1800’s in England with extra hops and alcohol to survive the long sea voyage from England to India for the troops there and became so popular for the refreshing bitter taste that the rest of the world soon caught on. When home brewers started experimenting in the 1970’s and 80’s this style led the way and today it is the most popular style of craft beer. Ours is an ‘homage to those first craft brewers that went looking for trouble.

A murky amber body reminiscent of apple cider topped by a well laced white head. The taste profile leads with citrus hop elements - grapefruit, orange and lemon. Mild bitterness but fresh. Some spice, grain and honey add to mix.

Nice citrus notes, earthy hops, fresh cut grass. Solid biscuity malts, cereals, and grains. The balance is quite impressive. Medium bitterness, citrus grassy finish.

Can from Lekkerbier, Sint Nicolaasga. Aroma is grapefruit, fruity hop, pine resin, citrus, malt, orange. Flavour is medium bitter and light sweet. Body is medium. What a pleasant time capsule to the kind of classic IPA that bewitched me so way back in the day.

Pint at beerbistro Toronto pours a lightly hazy gold with plenty of lacey white head. Nose has plenty of soap and grass, some citrus and a little crackery malt. Flavor is a little bit of orange soda, muddled citrus, simple malt, plenty of soap and herbs. Bitter finish but a bit over fruited.

473ml can. Pours a slightly hazy gold-orange with a medium, foamy, long lasting, off-white head that leaves soapy curtains of lace. Sweet fruity aroma of bready wheat malt, caramel, grapefruit, lemon peel, peach, floral and piney hops. Sweet fruity flavour of bready wheat malt, caramel, grapefruit, orange peel, peach, floral and pine resin in a dry, bitter finish. Medium body with a watery to oily texture and soft carbonation. Decent.
