Tap at the bluejacket Brewpub. A dark brown black coloured pour with a halo of beige head. Aroma is semi sweet, nutty brown bread, dried fruits, ashy roast. Flavour is composed of semi sweet, dried fruits, prune, light ashy roast, earthy roast. Palate is semi sweet, mellow cask condition, little hot.

Pint at the Roost, pours a translucent deep cola brown with some sopid, lacey beige head. Nose is malty, toasty, some coffee and some smoke. Flavor is meaty and malty, sausage, burnt coffee bean, toffee and black licorice. Finiahes fairly full bodied with some roasty bitterness. Solid.

Cask at Bluejacket. Poured a dark brown color with a small off-white head. Aroma was a bit of Kit-Kat wafer, not like sweet candy, but just that kind of chocolate and wafer smell you get from a freshly opened wrapper. Flavor was light chocolate, some mild bitter coffee roast. Earthy hops.

Tap. Pours opaque black, large tan creamy head, good lacing. Aroma is roasty, chicory, woody, pine. Flavor is light sweet, medium bitter. Medium body. Soft mouthfeel.

Roast and sharp bitter hops. A little coffee. Too much dry hopping probably like a bag race in a dust storm. Black pour with ok head. Very bitter finish. Cask at Churchkey.
