Bottle from Kisjes Slijterijen, Meppel. Aroma is roasted dark malt, fruity notes, notes of vegetables, soft citrus, touch of chocolate. Flavour is moderate sweet and bitter. Body is medium. A bit rough and unrefined, lacks focus, with an unpleasant aromatic flaw. No, this doesn’t do it for me.

Bottle. Deep dark brown color. Caramel, smoke roast and vinegar in the aroma. Malty sweetish flavor with roast, licorice, sourish. Infected? Intended? I don’t know. But this is not my favorite

Deep dark brown colour, small tan head, dissipating slowly. Aroma roasted malt, black currant, blue berry, raisins, toffee, brown sugar, sourish undertone. Flavour medium sweet and bitter, some acidity, malty, dark fruit, toffee, woody notes. Astringent sweetbitter finish, sourish notes, some chocolate at the very end. Medium body, oily texture, soft carbonation. Strange brew but well-made and drinkable, porter with a hint of saison.

Ruikt als een saison met chocoladecake. Wat zoetige koek in de smaak. Prima dubbel noemen we zoiets

Bottle at home. Bit hazy dark reddish brown with dark beige head. Licorice, soft sour berries, hay, caramel, dead leaves, brown sugar, light spicy yeast. Under medium sweet and bitter and light sour. Under medium bodied with a bit fizzy carbonation. Very weird, didn’t like it at first but it kind of grew on me.

Bottle @ home. Opaque dark brown to black color, average sized off-white head. Smell and taste malts, a hint of dark malts, a distant hint of sweet dark fruits, while overall the malt bitter and general bitter dominate in the end. Decent to medium body, medium to firm carbonation. Apart from the carbonation I quite like it.
