Dark brown, earthy chocolate and toasted chili aroma. Smokey up front, fading into earthy chile heat, with just a bit of chocolate wedged in there. Could benefit from a touch more residual sugar, but pretty solid.

Vom Faß im Jing A, Peking.

Scharfes Finish. 8/10/11/10//10

Light-med brown color. Massively smoked nose with chipotle. Almost too much smoke. Big smokey mouth with chilli peppers creeping in. A bit too light body and not enough roasted malt, which makes it slightly off balance. Also it’s over smoked and too much chilli.

Keg at Jing A Taproom, Beijing. Dark brown, small head. Smoky nose with sausage and dried Chinese chili pepper. Dryish with medium body and rounded mouthfeel. Really nice flavour combination of Bamberg style smoke and Chinese chili peppers. Burning chili finish. Interesting, but I would love to have this flavour in my food and down it with a helles if given a choice. Still, this may be the most interesting chili beer of all times.
