Make Lemon Drop Sun part of your summer survival kit, and no amount of heat or humidity will get you down. This summer thirst-quencher is not your average wheat ale. Light, tart and slightly dry, it is the addition of lemon peels & fresh hop flowers that adds a necessary kick on a hot summer day. Lemon Drop Sun is mild enough to be a refreshing summer offering, but has just enough of a hop profile & lemon zing to keep your taste buds tingling for another sip. Wheat, barley, and hops coalesce in this superb session ale, a telltale symbol of fun in the sun. Summer never tasted so good.

Lemon zest, dandelion, and lillies bouquet. Hazy amber, medium head. Intense lemon and lime, bread crust at midpalate. Light body, moderate carbonation. Not a lot of subtlety but that’s a bit of a hallmark for Southern Tier. Very enjoyable and well done. Easy to get what they are doing here and they nailed it.

Bottle from Harris Teeter, Hampstead, North Carolina. Lighter clear golden with a small head. The lemon is really strong, almost overbearing but not quite. There’s a mild bitterness from it.

Bottle: Very pale gold, slightly hazed with a thin white head. Lemon-peel, wheat, citrus aroma. Taste has some grassy bittering....wheat malt, lemon.... Gets a touch of a mineral note after a while, but still, pretty good....light and bright.

Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a medium golden color with a large foamy yellow-white head that lingered and left good lacing. The aroma was tart lemon and a bit of yeast. The flavor was tart lemon with a bit of chalk and yeast. Long lemonade finish. Medium body. Decent.

Bottle. Lemon, biscuit malt, and linalool/lemongrass aroma. Golden yellow with moderate but short-lasting head. Mildly sweet lemon, biscuit malt, and moderately bitter lemon peel / grass flavor. Good body. Decent.

12oz bottle pours a mostly clear gold with some patchy, white head. Nose has lemon, straw, some paper. Flavor has a little more paper and a little more lemon, some straw, some grass. Finishes a touch watery. The Hop Sun base really didn’t come through well, so you’re left with just lemon.

Clear bright yellow color with a medium thin white head that burns away steadily to a film. Short strings of lace. Lemony aroma with hops and yeast in the background. Light-bodied with flavors of mildly tart lemon, grassy hops and malt. The finish is citrusy with a grassy hop aftertaste. Decent overall.

Hazy light gold pour with a small white head and decent retention. Minimal lacing. As advertised, a sweet, very lemony wheat ale. Clean and crisp. Repeatable. No "Hop" on the label of my bottle.
