Our popular “golden double IPA” returns for two months. This beer first debuted in 2013 as a collaboration with our good friends at Ninkasi Brewing. It was a trendsetter when it was first released on draft as it highlights the route that lots of new hop bombs are headed: light in body, lighter in color, and huge tropical flavors and aroma.

Hops: El Dorado, Mosaic, Chinook
Malt: Two Row, Munich, Crystal Medium, Chocolate, Pale Chocolate, Roast Barley

Draught. Golden pour with white head. Citrus and woodsy aroma. Full taste hop on all the tongue with a bit of alcohol in the finish. Worth seeking out.

On tap. Pours a clear gold with little head. Aromas of jammy stoned fruit and toasted malts. Flavors of dried fruit, resin, grass and bread crust. Definite Mosiac. Nice enough but nothing distinctive.

Bottle from Brewers Haven. Haxy golden body topped off with a high, fluffy head. Lovely pour. Soft, gentle aroma features some muted hoppiness, slightly bready. Taste gets a bit juicy, citrus, grapefruit. Finishes tangy, biting, slow burn follows. This little number hides a punch under that light facade.S summery essences with winter warmth. Nice!

Crisp golden coloured body with a slight cloudy orange glow and a nice, small two centimetre tall off-white head that fades relatively fast. Aroma of resin, earth, grapefruit, pine, alcohol, cleanser and a bit of toffee. Medium to Full-bodied; Strong resinous hop flavour at first with a lot of bitterness and pungency from the hops with a very smooth sweetness from apricots and fruits and a mellow but balanced malt backbone showing some earth and toffee. Aftertaste shows an almost perfect balance of hops and malt with a good sweet finish, a bit of resin and pine bitterness near the end, all with some fruit flavours to wash it down. Overall, a well-structured and fruity beer that shows less hops than I expected (for the style and a PNW based beer) but a better balance and elegance than I expected as well. Nice to try and well worth grabbing if you can find it! I sampled this 65 cL bottle purchased from Belmont Station in Portland, Oregon on 05-May-2015 for US$6,02 sampled at home in Washington on 27-September-2016.

On tap @ Henrik. Smells absolutely lovely this! Superb hoppy and piney. Finding lots of similarities with the beard oil that I'm wearing today. Birches, gin, juniper and fresh citrus. A lovely aroma indeed. It has a really cloudy orange dark colored body and a hefty lacing almost creamy off-white head on the top. Can't get over this nose, it smells really good. It's really tasty as well this. Thick and oily in the mouth and it's small bubbled and almost prickling on the carbonation. Piney and wild in the taste. No doubt that it's a well hopped one. Still, it's surprisingly and a little scary lightdrinkable for a DIPA. A really smooth well balanced one! 12.12.2015
