Our popular “golden double IPA” returns for two months. This beer first debuted in 2013 as a collaboration with our good friends at Ninkasi Brewing. It was a trendsetter when it was first released on draft as it highlights the route that lots of new hop bombs are headed: light in body, lighter in color, and huge tropical flavors and aroma.

On tap at breakside pub Portland. Pours out a crisp golden topped with a white head. Nose is pine citrus tropical fruit and a nice malt. Taste is as the nose with a great hop mix tropical fruit and some caramel malts.

hazy golden color. Lovely tropical fruit, pine, with a touch of biscuit malt below it. Very nice malty start but then big tropical fruit notes with some crystal malts. Really well balanced. Lighter body than expected. Fantastic light dry finish. Superb

India Golden, not Golden IPA, and this is reflected in the character of the beer. Has a dull gold, aroma is very bright with floral, tropical fruit hops. Taste has melon, mango and vinous hops, a fair bit of pale malt and it’s actually a little gluey. Not entirely effective - especially there is some biscuity character getting in the way of the brightness and the alcohol is quite apparent as well, lending harshness to the finished product.

2014-06-26 draught at St. Augustine’s, Vancouver, 8-3-8-5-16=40
Cloudy golden color with compact head. Pungent brew, probably with NZ hops, with a lean body, appreciated for showcasing good hops, moderately sweet, and very fruity (mango over all), a bit musky; drier final.
Very good, drink cold.
2014-06-07, bottle from 16th Street Liquor, West Vancouver, 7-4-8-5-16=40
Hazy golden color with medium sized head. The hop aroma is moderately fruity, some malt, and light vegetables; some piney pungent hop too. Lean body, the mouthfeel is lightly oily; mellow malt flavor, and potent hopping, very resiny, but also with fresh fruit character; long and bold final.
There are other strong IPAs with a better aroma, nevertheless this one has the quality of being quite easy to drink.

Bottle. Pours clear golden orange with a medium off-white head that dissipates slowly and laces well. Aroma is nice and dank, citrus, passionfruit. Flavor is light sweet and light bitter, lots of dank citrus flavors that I love. Medium body, a touch oily. Nice effort!

Bottle thanks to Nathan. Pours a clear gold with medium frothy white head that diminishes quickly. The aroma is pine and honey. Medium mouthfeel with fruit hop and sweet with nice light bitternes. Easy to drink, very good.

22 oz. bottle, pours a clear golden with a medium off-white head. Aroma brings out lots of piney hops, zesty biscuity malt, and a little citrus. Flavour brings out loads of juicy piney hops, resin, and dry zesty biscuity malt. Loads of hops, very dry on the palate, and without any residual sweetness. Excellent stuff.

Tap at Breakside, PDX, 25/05/13. Clear golden with a thin white head. Nose delivers a good fresh hop kick, grapefruit, orange sherbet, mineral notes. Taste comprises bitter grapefruit, hops, light pine, orange pith, citrus. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, hop bitterness in the finish. A decent well balanced DIPA - good work !
