Voor de Leffe Royale Crystal selecteerden onze meester-brouwers de Crystal hop die geteeld wordt op de Westkust van de Verenigde Staten. Dit zonnige bier ontplooit aroma’s met tropische toetsen van passievrucht, perzik, abrikoos en sinaasappel. Dankzij de drooghoptechniek ontwikkelt de hop een rijke en tegelijk delicate smaakharmonie met fijnbittere toetsen.

Bottle @ home shared with Thompson. Clear golden color, average sized white to off-white head. Smell and taste malts, lightly hops, sweet, softly bitter. Ok beer, but not a lot of difference between them.

Bottle shared. Clear orange with an off white head. Aroma of light herbal and fruity hops, yeast, caramel and ready notes. Flavour is moderate sweet and bitter. Medium bodied with soft carbonation.

Flesje gedeeld met de buurman. Goudbruin, helder bier. Aroma van hop en kruiden. Ook de smaak is zeer hoppig en kruidig. Een beetje sprankelend in de mond. Nasmaak is eveneens hoppig.

330ml Bottle - Amber with a foamy head. Herbal aroma with hints of mint, basil and freshly cut grass. Hoppy and slightly sweet taste with peach, sultanas, sugar and some herbal notes.

Clear dark blond beer, small irregular off-white head, pretty stable, bit adhesive. Aroma: spicy touch, floral, soapy smell, bit of banana. MF: lively carbon, medium body. Taste: lots of oranges, orange peel, bit yeasty, banana, soft bitterness, bit soapy. Aftertaste: oranges, sweet, bit malty, yeast, some banana, some marzipan, more oranges.

14th June 2016: Shrewsbury Beer Share. Cheers Mat. Poured a clear golden colour, on top a snowy white head that gave some lacing. Yeast and tropical fruits in the nose, the taste a little sweet and like the nose fruity. Probably the best Leffe badged beer I have had so far.

75cl bottle @ Shrewsbury Beer Share, June 16, courtesy of myself, bought from Auchan. Pours clear gold, good fluffy white head. Aroma is familiar yeasty leffe. Taste is definitely Leffe Royale, but with perhaps less of that cushioned yeast, and more exotic orange rind hop. Not much, but it’s there. Seems a very balanced, well-integrated Leffe. No complaints.
