Can Clear gold with a white head. Fresh citrus hop aroma with a bit of pine resin. The flavor is bitter and a bit resiny. Some woody dryness in the finish.

7 week old can A: Lightly hazed medium gold with a low but long standing head and thick lace. S: Evergreen nose with faint lemon lime and caramel. T: Bitter piney and pithy hops followed by some floral and woody notes that linger into the aftertaste. M: Light to medium body with average to crisp carbonation and a slightly oily finish. O: Pretty nice in all areas. I'd buy again.

On tap at Catawba, pours a hazy golden with a small white head. Aroma brings out fresh piney hops, with subtle fruitiness and crisp biscuity malt. Flavour reveals a nicely bitter piney hop character, with light fruitiness, and crisp biscuity malt. Fruity and crisp. Very good.

Very hazy golden and straw coloured body with a perfectly topped two centimetre tall just off-white head that leaves a pretty ugly lace. Aroma of dry and lightly citrus-based hops with some grasses and hay along with a touch of alcohol and warmth noticeable at the end. Medium-bodied; Assertive dry and grassy flavours with some light hop bitterness noticeable at first with some pine and flowers towards the end with a lot of hay and white pepper along with some alcohol and citrus fruits like lemon zest and grapefruit noticeable at the end. Aftertaste is deep and bitter with the floral and citrus fruits the strongest by far with a touch of sugars and hops noticeable at the end, but well balanced throughout with the alcohol showing through towards the end as well, but malt giving it a good deal of body. Overall, a nice and well layered IPA with some good bitterness and hop flavours, but nothing too assertive or pungent. Great to sample and a good IPA option, especially those who like dry and grassy IPAs from the East Coast! I sampled this twelve ounce can purchased from Habersham Beverage Outlet in Savannah, Georgia on 04-May-2018 for US$1,61 sampled in my hotel room here in Orlando, Florida on 07-May-2018.

Not sure what was wrong with the first pint I had, but this can is a completely different beast, a monstrous west coast IPA coupling juicy Citra notes with a shitload of Pacific Northwest Cascade pine. Still not a huge fan--the bitterness comes across as outsized for the simple malts--but it's far better than I first thought, especially with the aroma, a vast thicket of pine resin, lemon, and herb.

Can from Craft Brewed. Pours a clear gold with a finger of foam. Rad drinkablility. Light body, tons of pungent citrus, low malt. Great west coast style IPA. Medium bitterness on the finish. Just a ton of citrus and light dankness, some pine. Clean and whistle. Really awesome for the price point. --- Beer merged from original tick of HOPness Monster IPA on 23 Jul 2017 at 16:11 - Score: 8. Original review text: Rad drinkablility.
