What better way to celebrate our 10th birthday than with a gorgeous, nostalgic-ish American IPA, brewed with a brewery so close to our hearts. Odell has always been a strong inspiration for DEYA so it was an absolute pleasure to host Doug and Wynne at HQ and cook up a delicious hop forward, truly American style IPA, with pioneers of this style.

This beer marries the two breweries approaches to IPA brewing, a citrus fruit forward American IPA which certainly looks to the past, but remains in the present. Hand selected Simcoe, Chinook, Amarillo and Comet blend together to make a medley of classic IPA flavours and aromas - citrus, pine, tropical, dank, while out classic house yeast esters bring the beer all together.

Cheers to Doug and Wynne who answered an email 10 years ago and facilitated an incredible learning experience.

Can. Just a very mild haze on this gold beer, a small and short lived pale cream colour head. Light palate, mildly dry, a good fine minerally crisp snap. Light pale malts, a little creamy sweetness and some obvious grain. Hops bring cooling pine and slightly ripe citrus, a little citrus peel. Floral and sweeter citrus on the back end. Crisp finish. Not doing much for me.

On tap at Deya taproom Saturday 11th October 2025 in the company of Dad, Pauline, Scott, Mand' and Oscar. Pours murky yellow with a large soft creamy textured white head, I got Loz a pint by mistake 🤣. This is very nice, well balanced, fruity but there's a little ginger in the mouth, tasty fresh with a big hoppiness throughout, good.

Foamy white head on a hazy golden coloured body.
Malt, stone fruit & hopped aroma.
Medium bodied, soft on the tongue with a cloying back
Nectarine, resinous, grapefruit & lime tastes with a malt backbone & peppery hopped up finish.
Nicely balanced IPA.

500ml can from the brewery. Pours hazy golden with a big white head. Aroma of orange and grapefruit, sweet ripe tropical fruits, mild herbal. Taste is slightly sweet, tropical, mango, orange and grapefruit, some pine and a light dank notes, fairly low bitterness. Medium bodied.
I was hoping for a classic westie here but it's essentially typical Deya haze with hops you'd see in a WC IPA. I can understand why some are disappointed - I am too - but I think it's still a good beer, but yes I do wish they went old school here. Huge missed opportunity, could've been a wonderful homage to Odell's classic IPA.

Can. Beer Stop Dronfield. Dusted off a Deya Teku for this hoping for a clean and bitter banger. It’s a milky, oaty green hop bag of shite that instantly made me remember why I’d stopped buying Deya beers years ago. Absolutely indistinguishable from all their other output.
