For this special release, Almanac set out with the goal of making a beer where every ingredient and process contributed to one ambition: creating layers of apricot flavor. Brettanomyces yeast creates tropical and stone fruit flavors in the barrel, which they matched with a small mountain of San Joaquin Valley apricots and finished with a delicate dry-hop of aromatic hops. From the yeast, to the fruit, to the hops, every aspect of this beer adds apricot flavor and aroma – resulting in a delicious wild ale.

Reviewed from notes.
Bottle to tulip.
Appearance: clear yellow to glossy orange color with a quarter finger of white foamy head which dissipated nicely to leave some light lace
Aroma: peachy tart and sweet flesh & skin with some vinous to slightly oaky accents then light lemon to subtle grassy and funky tones rolling into some light Brett/sour notes
Flavor: sour to tart and underscored by the sweet with an ample extra tropical fruity addition; finishes peachy and tropical fruity with a slight funk to it
Texture: medium bodied, great sipper; light smoothness but also penetrable tart and sour lashings to the tongue as expected
Overall: a very nicely done fruited sour/tart ale I would return to.

Bottle. A- Apricot, Brett, bright. A- Gold color, hazy liquid, white head. T- Apricot, funky, oak, slightly perfumy. P- Light body, average texture, average carbonation, refreshing finish. O- Nice bright and juicy nose balanced by some clear Brett. The name suggests this might be super funky but it was really well put together. Lots of apricot throughout. Good stuff.

375 ml bottle, bottled 04/21/17, shared by PowY, thanks!
Orange, hazy body, with a small, yellowish head.
Aroma of grapefruit, pine, Brett, apricot juice, passion fruit, orange.
Tastes similar, with the apricot more dominant.
Medium, slick mouthfeel, with a lively carbonation.
Finishes Bretty, medium bitter, quite dry, moderate sweet, citric, piney, with apricot.
Very interesting. Very hoppy, but also lots of juicy apricot, with the Brett in the background. Drinks very fresh and crisp. Lovely mix of sour fruit ale and hoppy ale.
