Bottle from De Bierliefhebber. Aroma is Bretty funk with wood, fruits, red wine, grapes, soft citrussy hops, touch of apricot, hay, peppery notes. Flavour is moderate sweet and light bitter with a dry conclusion. Body is medium with a delicate balance. Lovely wine barrel aging, lots of Bretty funk, refined tasty Wild Ale.

375ml bottle. Slightly cloudy, orangey golden colour with average to huge, frothy, moderately lasting, minimally lacing, white head. Pungent, funky, bretty, peppery yeasty spicy aroma becomes more mild with getting some air and turns toward the sweet-ish Hubba Bubba bubblegum side in the brett spectrum, hints of grape sugar, cautious (red) vinous overtones. Taste is bone-dry, oaky, vinous, bretty, minimally tart-ish, minimally sugary pale malty with a touch of grape sugar.

Bottle from Craft Brewed. Pours a clearish light copper with a full 2 fingers of foam that lingers. Wonderful musty, grainy nose with horseblanket, wet hay, dried and aged orange peel and faint grass aromas. Mineral notes on the palate, more wet hay and dried orange again. Peppery bitterness permeates before the palate. Body is light and vibrant with lovely saison-like carbonation. Dry finish with a touch of citrus. Fantastic and very reminiscent of Orval. --- Beer merged from original tick of Barrel Series Brett Belgo IPA (2016) on 02 Mar 2018 at 20:25 - Score: 8. Original review text: Great! Orval moves!!

Brett, cheesy funk, musty pear, lemon nose. Clear amber, thick head. Dry, vinous, oak and twigs. Medium body, soft carbonation. Didn't get a lot hop character, but it's an elegant wild ale.

bottle from broxbeers.com cloudy yellow, bubbly white head. foamed over after 30s when openend and kept volcano foaming for a minute or two. aroma of brett, flowery hops, very faint straw and lemongrass, malts. faint tartness, quite pleasant aroma overall. flavor is slightly sourish, lemongrass , tea, brett, wine barrels (what i tasted bf looking it up was was barrels with something sourish in them). flavor is less crazy than most other belgian beers on wine barrels i have tasted, and i like this version better than most of its kind i've tasted - not so bittersweet/sour as they can get.

Very nice brett IPA, funky and bitter but offering a grassy citric sweetness that meshes well with the spicy, sparkly Belgian texture. Starts semisweet, wheat and hints of clove giving way to a firm, citric-floral middle, then gains a bready note before exploding on the finish, growing hoppy and wood-tinged, the oaking opening a vinous undercurrent that plays nicely off the growing barnyard funk. Finishes yeasty and dry. A little too bubbly for an IPA, but just right for a Belgian, so I won’t complain too much about the feel. Good beer.
