Ever so slightly hazy golden and peach coloured body with a straw glow and a thinnish, off-white head that fades fairly quickly. Aroma of grass, flowers, pine, yeast, bread and a dash of grain with a lof of biscuity funk that makes this seem almost as a lager instead of an ale. Medium-bodied; Super grassy, floral and piney flavours at first with a good support from the malt and a hint of dryness with a lot of biscuity/yeastie and bready components towards the end that take away from the hops and light bitterness and replace them with a grainy bite and some subtle sweetness. Aftertaste is dry, herbal, grassy, light piney and robust, but in a pure East Coast IPA dynamic. There isn't much complexity and the malts drive the beer forward with a very subtle sweetness at the end, but more flavours are derived from the yeast and bread than any real hops, bitterness or alpha acids. Overall, a good enough IPA that clearly shows an old school East Coast IPA slant, for better or worse, but I prefer West Coast options or sadly New England variants. Still, nice to try and a welcome beer to sample who want to have a pure East Coast IPA, for sure. I sampled this sixteen ounce, pint-sized can, purchased from the Department of Beer and Wine in Alexandria, Virginia on 19-June-2020 for US$4,49 sampled at my house here in Washington on 12-August-2020.

Pint can, WW. Gold, hint of haze, off-white head. Musty hops, slightly sour, just smells stale. Pine, caramel, grapefruit peel... tastes better than it smells. Nice aftertaste.

Very straightforward, well-made IPA, thankfully more Western than Northeastern, with a tasty mix of grapefruit, mango, papaya, and pine, backed by a subtle honey-topped cracker graininess and a mild lingering bitter streak on the back end. Nose is a bit off--a weird vegetal note is present (yet doesn't translate into the taste)--but otherwise quite the enjoyable hop bomb.

Sample at the taproom. Clear orange-gold color with a medium off-white head that dissipates steadily to an outer ring. Stringy lacing. Aroma of floral hops, fruit and malt. Medium body with flavors of floral hops, grapefruit and biscuit malt. The finish is moderately bitter with a citrus and piney hops aftertaste. Above average overall.
