strong grapefruity citrussy aroma, also a kind of weird herbal mouldy note, i've got no clear idea, gorgonzola cheese perhaps, or rotten milk. not super nice.. overall impression though is a strange sour beer with grapefruity hops sensation and it comes off much worse than it sounds. it's like.. not really sour beer aroma and not really hoppy grapefruity aroma, and i love both. the lacto is also in the way, doesn't fit in. bit of leather.

flavor works fine, sour beer, bit of leather, decent sour beer flavor with some oomph from grapefruity hops and perhaps grapefruit juice. nicely refreshingly sour and tart, nicely grapefruity in a good juicy way. in fact perhaps i can taste grapefruit juice more than fruity hops. balanced in a way that the awesome sour beer is not drowned out. quite amazing how different i react to aroma and to taste.

Sourness detracts from grapefruit flavour. Sourness has an apple flavour, slight sweetness. Low bitterness, grapefruit zesty finish.

From tap at Taplokaal Gist, Utrecht, during the Siren tap takeover. Aroma is massive grapefruit with wheaty malt, fruity hops, grapefruit peel, refreshingly fruity, and a lactic element. Flavour is a bit tart with a light bitterness. Body is medium. No artificial character, just pure fruit. A true grapefruit++ IPA.

Merci à FX pour cette découverte et pour me faire sortir de mes zones de confort. Et je dois avouer que cette Pompelmocello est plutôt bien réalisée avec une acidité présente mais sans être trop poussée et surtout avec des arômes fruités agréables. Le visuel est sur un blond très légèrement voilé, avec peu d'effervescence, de grosses bulles et sans mousse. Le nez est sympathique sur le pamplemousse, les fruits exotiques, la mangue et l'abricot. En bouche, malgré l'acidité, cette Pompelmocello reste très aromatique avec de légères épices qui agrémentent le tout sur une bonne complexité. La corpulence est limitée mais Siren nous propose ici une bière fruitée et fraîche.
