Can from Beer Ambleside.
Appearance - deep brown with a slightly off-white, creamy head.
Nose - brown bread, burnt toffee and faint chocolate.
Taste - chewy toffee, malt loaf and honeycomb.
Palate - medium bodied, roasty finish.
Overall - not sure that ticks all the boxes for the style. The base beer seems too light.

Crooked River Chocolate Stout
Cask at the Old Cross Tavern, Hertford on 21st August 2025. Deep ruby black with shallow tan foam and spot lacing. Rich dark chocolate roastiness in aroma. Dark chocolate and spiced cake fruits in-mouth, and a finish of quality dark chocolate and raisins. Full bodied with a velvet smooth mouthfeel. Superb.
