Originally released in 1978 Galena was one of the first "super hops" released from the USDA breeding program in Idaho, noted for its strong bitter aftertaste, with aroma including sweet fruits, pear, pineapple, blackcurrant, grapefruit, lime, gooseberry and spicy wood.

Gravity cask at the 28th St Albans Beer Festival, 26/09/25.
golden blonde topped with a white head.
Nose is grass, pale malts, modest citric zest.
Taste comprises melon, pale malts, citric tinged straw, splash of lemon.
Medium bodied, soft carbonation, drying close doused with modest hop bitterness.
