From a 12 oz can. Pours a fairly clear mahogany. Aromas are herbal with some toffee. Flavors spicy from the chiles but with plenty of sweetness to balance. Decent.

Brown with an off-white and creamy head. Toffee and chili aroma, but also mineral earthy, like gravel. Taste is mildly sweet up front. Dry and a touch bitter at the back. Metallic notes. The lingering chili is done subtly. Medium-bodied, moderate carbonation. A few flaws but not unpleasant.

On tap at the Raven Cafe, Prescott, AZ. A bright copper colour with a thin cream head; malty aroma with an odd whiff of stewed cabbage; dry and malty with a touch of spice, a smooth body; and some caramel; and a satisfying dry caramel finish. No sign of the cacao or chili though.

12 oz. can. Pours a murky brown, with a big, foamy, khaki head. The aroma is very earthy, with pine sap, cloves, rye, and bitter almonds. Sweet and a little roasty, with some off bitterness, almost to the point of being sour. Medium to heavy body, lively, grainy, and chewy. Odd spicing, but not bad.

12oz can, with pretty cool retro kind of dot-matrix like artwork, pours with a brown body that supports a tan head of foam. The modest aroma offers up chocolate nuanced nutmeg and ginger to go along with a bit of a rootbeer sensation. The taste is similar as there’s some chocolate notes and then spices like nutmeg, cinnamon and a sliver or two of ginger. Behind those notes are some classic honey sweetened ripe apple and pear like fruity esters. Pretty neat brew.
