DOUBLE IPA NELSON SAUVIN - RIWAKA HOP KIEF - 8% ALC./VOL.
Nous avons décidé de brasser un projet spécial avec les houblons de la compagnie Néo-zélandaise Freestyle Hops. Ces passionnés de houblons s'intéressent aux différentes caractéristiques que cette plante peut développer selon le moment de la récolte. Le projet consistait à brasser deux versions de Double IPA : l’une avec du Nelson Sauvin récolté à la mi-saison et l’autre en récolte tardive, afin d’explorer les différentes saveurs qu’un même houblon peut offrir.
Cette version est élaborée avec une récolte de mi-saison de Nelson Sauvin, qui apporte des notes de raisin vert, de sauvignon blanc et de groseille.

Can. Hazy orange gold beer, a decent bubbly pale cream colour head but, it doesn't last. Light palate, semi dry, good fine minerally carbonation. Light pale malts, a thin creamy sweetness, a little natural grain. Nelson and Riwaka hops bring light cooling pine. Mild savoury hop and an even milder bitterness. A decent amount of Nelson grape and mild Riwaka exotics. Light and semi dry finish. It's fine but, so much competition with DIPAs these days, this is a little behind the curve.

Thanks fonefan! Hazy golden colour with a mediumsized white foamy head. Aroma is tropical fruits, some nutty and toasted tones with mild herbal tones. Flavour is floral, wooden, some nutty and tropical fruity tones to it.

Draft: Poured a somewhat hazy yellow color ale with a nice white foamy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma of juicy citrusy hops notes with some floral hops undertones and some Sauvignon/tropical notes. Taste is also a mix of juicy citrusy notes with some floral undertones and some Sauvignon//tropical notes with a semi-dry finish. Body is quite full with good carbonation. Enjoyable double NEIPA with a nice Sauvignon/tropical twist.

A hazed golden golden DIPA with a thin creamy white head. In aroma, sweet fruity biscuit malt with resinous floral hops, grapefruit pulp, light tropical fruits, very nice. In mouth, a nice sweet fruity biscuit malt with resinous floral hops, light tropical fruits, very nice. On tap at brewery.

Medium hazed, golden colour with an orange hue, a warm-whitish cap that stays a while and leaves some foamy spots on the glass. Aromas of stone-tropical fruits with a touch of melon, white grapes and hints of vanilla. The taste shows a little of the Sauvignon Blanc grapes, but again - mostly tropical and stone fruits. The mouthfeel is wet with a little dryness picking up in the end. Nice to see a third Double IPA from this brewery. Now let's try the other version, as I seem to prefer it, the first time I tried both. Seems like the Nelson Sauvin is not shinning enough.
