Wet Hop Kellerpils

We went to Battle House Hops in Almonte for the harvest of their Galena hops. We then took some of these hops fresh off the field (known at this stage as wet hops) and added them to some lagering Madawaska to create a unique wet hop version of our flagship beer. Wet Hop Kellerpils has interesting flavours that wouldn't be found in a beer brewed with pelletized hops - many of the resinous and sticky citrus flavours found in the beer would be volatilized during the drying process of the hops. Wet hop beers are interesting in that they can only be enjoyed around this time of year from breweries that are close to hop yards, giving these delicate beers an unmatched sense of place.
