Our Cinnamon Raisin Commodore is truly a story of experimentation. Originally a gold-medal winning American stout first born in our R&D program, our brewers developed a new variation, adding cinnamon and raisins to this dark, bittersweet brew. The result is just the right amount of sweet and spice, with roasty maltiness at the helm.

Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a black color with a large foamy brown head lingered and left a bit of lacing. The aroma was dry and roasty with a bit of cinnamon. He flavor was cinnamon, raisin, roasty malts and turned dry. Long finish. Medium bodied. Disappointing

Bottle from Brewers Haven. Black pour with small ring of brown head. Coffee cake aroma, gingerbread. Very pleasant. Taste is light cinnamon, raisins, roast grains. Very gentle fir a spiced stout. Light sweetness still allows the roast grains to shine.

Sample at Kraft House No. 5. The beer is a brown-black color with a medium tan head that diminishes steadily to a film. Small patches of lacing on the glass. Aroma of roast malt, cinnamon and dark fruit. Medium body with flavors of chocolate malt, raisin and cinnamon. The finish is sweet with a raisin cookie aftertaste. Above average overall.
