Pitch black color with a very large brown head and great retention. Good lacing. Strong chocolate and peanut butter nose. Heavy mouthfeel. Strong chocolate flavor with a light gritty nutty background flavor and booze. Like all imperials, all flavors are sacrificed by high alcohol content. 9.0 ABV is obvious and suppressing. Sweet Baby Jesus is much better.

Bouteille de 650 ml. Du fudge du gateau au chocolat et surtout du beurre d'arachide servent d'entrée à l'olfactif. Ces trois ingrédients sont très intenses. Des noisettes et du boisé en sous-note. Une mousse épaisse et bien crémeuse recouvre ce liquide noir et bien opaque. En bouche, les trois ingrédients de base reviennent et cette fois s'enrobent d'alcool chaleureux. Des notes de roti aux allures de café frais torréfié s'insinuent dans le fond du gustatif. Absence d'amertume résineuse. Légère amertume de torréfaction. Particulière. Le beurre d'arachide est trop puissant et nuit à l'équilibre des saveurs.

12oz bottle. Poured a nearly pitch black color, maybe just a really dark cola color. Aroma was chocolate, roasted chocolate with some peanut notes. Flavor was similar, lots of roasted peanuts. Heavy, but not too heavy for a 9% beer.

Bottle. Pours inky black with large spongy tan head, chocolate-peanut aroma, medium carbonation, medium bitter mocha taste with peanuts, thin body, long mocha finish. Heavy and potent.

Odd duck. Good, but in an odd way. I do kind of, sort of pick up the peanut butter, but it’s not super obvious. Tasty beer though overall.

Draft at Growler USA. Clear brown color, tan head. Aroma of Reese’s peanut butter cups. Taste is more like Reeses Pieces. Sweet roasty and nutty.

The Sampler, Brooklyn bottle: pours oily black with a beige head. Aroma is a lot of milk chocolate and peanut butter. Taste is quite sweet... perhaps too sweet. Loads of chocolate and peanut butter in every sip. A bit on the heavy side of things.

Sampled on draft at the Rivertowne Pub this beer poured a black color with a medium sized foamy brown head that left decent lacing. The aroma was dryish and roasty with a cocoa powder note. The flavor was bitter, dryish and roasty with notes of nut, cocoa, floral hops and smoke. Long finish. Moderately full bodied. Alcohol well controlled. Ok.

Bot. Oh yea, this smells like mean peanut buttah. Mean roasted honey bar nuts. Look is thick black used engine oil. Taste is peanut butter imperial stout. Massively repulsive and thick yet cannot turn my attention away. Each swig leans me more into that range of oblivion. Same with finish, its smooth and slick, what else can be said you big kick my ass beer. Go mix a jar of peanut butter with some hot used harley shovelhead engine oil and then you’ll know where I’m comin’ from. Difficult.
