Peppery lemongrass nose. Hazy yellow, huge head, gusher. Grass, pepper, tea, meyer lemons. Medium body, soft carbonation, somewhat resinous. I didn't like this at first, but it grows on you. The spiciness is pretty neat once you become acclimated to it.

Nice crisp, light copper coloured body with a thick, four centimetre tall off-white head on top. Aroma of bright grassy and herbal hops with some mild earthy and caramelised sugar noticeable in the malt bill, but some light alcohol and mostly very grassy and floral hoppy scents throughout. Medium-bodied; Strong biting hops at first with a nice pungent bitterness along with a good dry grassy finish; Add in some malt backbone and a tiny bit of sugars from the toffee and carameilsation and you have a well-rounded flavour. Aftertaste shows the more pungent grassy and earthy flavours that hit harder from the malt and end with a little of the alcohol bite, but still finishes quite hoppy from the dry herbal and grassy hop notes throughout. Overall, a relatively well-balanced and structured IPA that shows quite well, but doesn't leave things too aggressive nor mild, somewhere down the middle, even for an East Coast IPA. Nice to sample and for the price, a good option. I sampled this twelve ounce can purchased from GrapeVine in Fort Mill, South Carolina on 21-August-2017 for US$1,89 purchased after watching the Eclipse in South Carolina, sampled at home after finishing the 2017 USMC Marathon on 22-October-2017 for the seventh time.

Just a flat out good, fresh tasting, American IPA. Aroma is a nice balance between hops and malt. Flavor’s like nose and again nice balance between bitter, sweet, malt and hops with just the right amount of carbonation.

5 month old can into an IPA. A: Poured clear medium orange gold with an inch of beige foam, retaining well. Sticky lace. S: Candied orange, spruce and toffee. Light citrus tartness but mostly sweet smell. T: Orange and citrus pith. Stiff toasty bread to counter, ending with spruce/pine. Not sweet as the nose implies but also doesn’t taste like 70 IBU. M: Medium body with average carbonation, finishing tart and clean. O: Looks, smells & tastes good. Not overly strong. What’s not to love? Must be really great fresh.
