Smaakomschrijving
Door Jopen 4-granen Bokbier (6,5%) te behandelen met de traditionele Eisbock-methode, is dit bokbier omgetoverd tot een vol bier van 12%. Het resultaat is een stevig en verwarmend bier met smaken van karamel en roost. Een prachtig bier om bij de open haard van te genieten. In de beginsmaak duidelijk moutig en vol op de lippen. Aansluitend komt karamel, roost en alcohol sterk naar voren. In de smaak erg stroperig en blijft lang vol. In de nasmaak blijft de roostsmaak en tonen van chocolade hangen. In de neus: karamel, alcohol, donker rood fruit (bramen) en chocolade.
Naam
De naam Jopen Ex-Girlfriend is geïnspireerd op de uitspraak ‘Beer as cold as your ex-girlfriend’s heart’.

06 oct 2018 Aromat słodowy bardzo słodowy, słodki, karmelowy, toffi. Wygląd mętne. Piana biało szara. kolor ciemna miedź, ciemnorubinowa, brunatne. Smak chlebowy słodowy trochę toffi. Smaki melanoidynowe dominują chmielowych właściwie brak. Treściwość średnia, trochę cierpkie, nasycenie niskie. Finisz dość gorzki, alkohol niewyczuwalny. Bottle at home. Aroma is sweet dark malt, caramel, dried fruits, raisins, touch of cocoa and alcohol. Flavour is sweet with some bitterness in the finish. Only slightly boozy. Body is above medium. Enjoyable Eisbock, lots of heavy Bock flavours, rich malt profile. I dig the name, ex-girlfriend, frozen and thawed, ready to be enjoyed for another round?

Vintage 2018. Limited Bottle. Moze nie bede nawiazywal do nazwy piwa w mojej ocenie, no ale nie wiem co w tym piwie takiego limitowanego, etykieta niczego nie wyjasnia. piana jasna jak na eisbocka, sredniej wielkosci, nie nacieszymy sie jej wygladem bo opada szybko, chyba szybciej niz runeła obalona Kolumna Zygmunta przez szwedow podczas Potopu. smak kukulki, troche jakiegos nasaczonego tiramisu, czekolada mleczna. w zasadzie nuty kozlaka, czy podwojnego, rasowego i tresciwego eisbocka nie specjalnie sie tu czuje. Dla mnie raczej rozczarowujace, a tanie nie bylo.

Bottle shared at the Beau in London tasting, last group tasting for 7 months - who knew, thanks to Tipple 11/03/20. Rich mahogany brown with a decent beige cap that escapes edgeward. Nose is dried fruit rinds, toffee, scorched brown sugar, a little basic on the aroma front given the ABV. Taste comprises toffee, booze, brown bread, sugar dusting, fruit loaf. Full bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close with a lick of alcohol. Ok sipper but lacks depth and complexity.

fles 2018. Zwart bier met weinig schuim. Smaak is warm en zoet met iets van anijs, zoethout en geroosterd brood. Erg fijne smaak en erg goed bier.

Bottle shared at the Beau London tasting 11/03/2020. Many thanks to Tipple. A clear mid brwon coloured pour with a loose light tan head. Aroma is salty, liquorice, belgian yeast, dubble, . Flavour is composed of semi sweet, chewy, woody roast, liqorice, woody grape, dried fruits, burnt cake. Palate is semi sweet, light tang, moderate carbonation. Ok.

Bottle shared in London - cheers to Tipple. Pours mostly clear brown with a slight, foamy khaki head. Dense, lots of well toasted sugars, caramel, a little earth. Medium to full bodied, lightly chewy, with fine carbonation. Lightly warming finish, more toasted caramel. Tasty.
