Smaakomschrijving
Door Jopen 4-granen Bokbier (6,5%) te behandelen met de traditionele Eisbock-methode, is dit bokbier omgetoverd tot een vol bier van 12%. Het resultaat is een stevig en verwarmend bier met smaken van karamel en roost. Een prachtig bier om bij de open haard van te genieten. In de beginsmaak duidelijk moutig en vol op de lippen. Aansluitend komt karamel, roost en alcohol sterk naar voren. In de smaak erg stroperig en blijft lang vol. In de nasmaak blijft de roostsmaak en tonen van chocolade hangen. In de neus: karamel, alcohol, donker rood fruit (bramen) en chocolade.
Naam
De naam Jopen Ex-Girlfriend is geïnspireerd op de uitspraak ‘Beer as cold as your ex-girlfriend’s heart’.

22nd Oct 2018, Shrewsbury Beer Sharing Group meeting. Cheers Simon for the 330ml bottle of this (just out of date). Ruby body, off-white crown. Nice malty aroma and taste, the Rye seemed to be the most dominant to me. I liked the overall sweetness and alcohol 'softness'. A fine Eisbock.

330ml bottle @ monthly tasting, Chez Sophie Oct '18. Thanks Simon for this. Pours deep hazy ruby, off-white head. Aroma presents nice malty fruitcake. Taste is smooth, dark fruitcake fruits with a good malty sweetness running throughout. Nice warming eisbock.

Bottle 33 cl. Dark bronze with garnet color, noisy yellow foam. Saturated aroma: a lot of malts, baking with dried fruits, sweetness, fortified wine, a little brandy. Taste: alcoholic wine, very malty, balanced sweetness, a little toffee, more dried fruits (figs, raisins and plums), very warming, quite balanced.

Clear deep amber beer, small pale tan head. Light palate, mildly dry, reasonable fine carbonation. Slightly caramel malts. Traces of coca cola and port wine. Spicy warming finish. A nip or two is fine.

Bottle shared @ Koelschtrinker's tasting. The beer starts malty and smooth, grainy with some sticky warming malts. The beer is not very deep, but rich and intense. Malt, not too sweetish, round with no bitterness. Smooth with some malty sweetness in the back.

Sampled @ Koelschtrinker Tasting. A dark orange brown beer with a small off-white head. Aroma of liqourice, strong red malt, riped red fruits. Taste of strong dark caramelish malt, riped red fruits, caramel, wood, boozy.

Sampled from 0.33 l bottle from 'Dranken Vos', bottled in October 2016. Clear, dark brownish amber with a beige head. Sweetish-malty, a little roasty aroma of caramel and nuts. Quite sweet, malty, a bit roasty taste of milk chocolate, caramel and some licorice, followed by a short, moderately roasty-bitter, slightly earthy-dry finish. Medium to full body, slightly creamy mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Solid, tasty, one-dimensional.
