One of our final brew day experiences from our crowdfunding campaign was the Master Brewer Day, for which we were joined by Andy Child to brew a beer of his choice of style and name. A traditional brown ale brewed with First Gold, ready for those impending, cold darker nights.

Cask at EBF Nov 25. Opaque cola brown. Frothy foamy beige head. Aroma is interesting... vinous and herbal over low key caramel. Flavourwise it is again quite sour with more peripheral caramel. Light-medium bodied. Slick. Soft-fizzy carbonation. Long dry somewhat astringent finish. Not exactly what I was expecting but after the initial surprise it's not too bad.

[Cask at the Nags Head, Reading.] An attractive tawny brown pour with a close cream coloured head; rich earthy aroma; thin and dry in the mouth with some raisins and cola; then an earthy finish with some chocolate syrup.

Cask at the Alehouse, Reading on 20th September 2025. Crystal clear dark brown with pale tan foam and a fair amount of lacing. Sweet roasty malt aroma. Roasty malts in-mouth with berry fruits. An interesting note of cola to start a roasty finish. Velvet smooth mouthfeel and a medium to full body.
