Taster pour at Craft Brew Race New Haven. Appearance is clear, dark yellow/light brown, light sparkle, finger-width head, small lacing. Aroma is strong, sweet passion fruit. Taste is not as delicious as the aroma as the tart aspects of the passion fruit overpower the sweet. Palate is light-to-medium bodied with thin texture, soft carbonation and more tart than sweet finish. Overall, this is true to the nature of the passion fruit and I appreciate the mix of tart and sweet, but could have used a little more sweetness for my taste.

Hazy pale with a very thick head. Fairly pronounced passionfruit aroma. Light body...thin actually...vague passionfruit but the malts just sort of disappear.

12 ounce bottle. Pours a cloudy yellow almost orange color with a very small white head. A big ripe fruity nose. The flavor is big wheat, some sharp tangy fruit, clear passion fruit. Quite nice. Nothing too crazy here, but very nice. Grew on me.

Can, rating #3700. During my last trip to California, I was the first rater of the 2015 version. This seems to be a weaker one. Looks about the same, at a hazy yellow-to-orange color with a nice white head. Aroma is passion fruit, a pure and natural ome though, really as if you?ve freshly cut one open. Since that is probably my favourite flavour in the world, this gets a great aroma score despite being quite simple. Taste is wheat, passion fruit, and that?s it. Nowhere near as tart as the first version, not wild at all, just quite boring. Silky mouthfeel, but also a bit watery. Please go back to the first recipe (although the aroma us lovely and amazingly natural!)
