Dirty Little Freak Coconut Caramel Chocolate Brown Ale, first brewed in 2014, takes the traditional American Brown Ale and gives it a sensual new twist – Coconut! This medium-bodied, 5.8% ABV brown ale is a feast for the senses from its dominant blend of warm, roasted malt, coconut, caramel, and chocolate flavors barely restrained by a gentle hop bite, to its tantalizingly satisfying finish.

Dark brown color with tan foam. Aroma of toasted coconut. Sweet coconut dessert taste and lighter body than many dark beers.

Gosh, I have mixed feelings about this one. I don't normally like coconut in beer, but when it works, it really does seem nice, but then, I think it's not something I would want to drink very often, or even again. DuClaw really hit it with this one, but still in the end I guess it's just not my thing. I'll try and find a middle ground in my rating, to acknowledge their success vs my opinion. Dark brown, pretty close to opaque, darker than any brown ale I've ever had! Nose is rich with chocolate and coconut, and some roasted malt. Flavor very similar. In a way, reminds me of a mounds bar. Medium bodied.

355ml bottle. Pours a hazy red-brown with a small, creamy, long lasting, beige head that laces. Sweet aroma of coconut, roasted malt, caramel, vanilla and chocolate. Sweet flavour of roasted malt, coconut, caramel, hazelnut and vanilla with a dry, bitter chocolate finish. Medium body with a creamy, smooth, oily texture and soft carbonation. A little gimmicky, but still a tasty dessert beer.
