Exploding bottle when the wax and seal were cracked, but didn't lose much, just immediately fizzed until I could pour into the glass. Deep hazy bronze and light brown coloured body with a very thick, four to five centimetre tall tan head. Aroma of pure cherries, caster sugar, mellow oak and cedar notes, some grass and a touch more of the deep black cherry scents. Medium-bodied; Deep robust malty and earthy notes with a big cherry and oak flavour with some malts, raisins, caster sugar, pitted fruit and pungent grain flavour, but really - no cloying flavours and somehow - no alcohol. Aftertaste shows a ton of cherry notes, no real tart or soured flavours, but some saison-like qualities with the dry malt and grain noticeable and a big yeast presence, but the cherries and malt are the strongest, and again - somehow no real alcohol notes despite the 13% abv!?! How is that possible? Overall, a pretty good beer - not a sour or tart beer by any means and far removed from real krieks, but this is interesting with some cherry flavours and perhaps one of the better beers i've seen in HIDING alcohol - if that's what you are into - this is quite good. I sampled this 37,5 cL wax-sealed bottle purchased from Whole Foods in New York (Bowery), New York on 05-December-2015 for US$10,99 sampled at home in Washington a bit more than 2,5 years later on 29-July-2018 after running my first double-digit run for the year.

375mL bottle, pours a deep dark amber orange with a small off-white head. Aroma brings out booze, candied sugar, and booze. Flavour is very boozy and sweet, with some phenols and harsh booze. Cloyingly sweet, harsh and phenolic. A trainwreck.
