In our never-ending pursuit of experimental small batch IPAs, we present to you Cosmic Punch! A mash bill that consists of 2-row, oats and Cascade hops. That’s right, hops in the mash! The name of this IPA iteration comes from a new yeast strain known as Cosmic Punch. This yeast strain has shown to have a greater ability to bio transform compounds found in malt and hops to release thiols. Thiols are highly impactful aroma compounds with notes of grapefruit, passion fruit and guava. After adding Cascade hop additions in both the mash and the whirlpool, we hit it with a hefty double dry hop of Citra and Galaxy.
