19/II/17 - 33cl bottle @ my sister's place - BB: 3/XII/17 (2017-183) Thanks to Jason for the bottle!
Clear dark blond beer, big irregular frothy white head, pretty stable, bit adhesive. Aroma: not much, to be honest. MF: ok carbon, medium to light body. Taste: malty start, pretty bitter, bit grassy, sweet touch, some marzipan, sweet malts. Aftertaste: mainly sugary and malty. Not as bad as I had feared...

Inspired by Jmgreenuk’s review, I travelled out of my way to visit the Fiddler to sample this brew. It’s a clear golden with a white head. Aroma is malty, wort and cardboard boringness. Flavour is above light sweet and bitter. Light bodied with a massive cardboard palate and light carbonation. Thanks John, truly an inspiration!

Bottle at the Fiddler, Den Haag. Poured a crystal clear straw colour with a frothy white head. The aroma is skunky malt, light hop. The flavour is moderate bitter, light sweet with a light dry yeasty very unsatisfying palate! Light bodied with lively carbonation. I’m amazed there is still a market for beer like this.

Klare goldgelbe Farbe, unstabile geringe weiße Schaumkrone. Geruch muffig, unangenehm malzig, metallisch hopfig. Geschmack schwach hopfig, getreidig malzig, wirkt sehr billig, nicht gut!

Light version of Jupiler, launched in 2006 with heavy marketing ("men know when" as a play on "men know why", expensive television commercials...). Snow white, sticky head, colour a very pale lemon yellow, cristal clear. Malt sweetness in the aroma and a very artificial - and off-putting - corn smell, cooked smell of pasteurization, lightstruck with some hay-like hops and a sourish chemical smell - in other words, everything in the smell of a beer, even a bland lager, that can go wrong, has gone wrong here. Neutral character with clear corn (obviously the label only says "contains barley malt"), then a rather agressive, sour and solvent-like chemical effect, bit oily mouthfeel and very humble grassy hop ’bitterishness’ deep into the finish. Even more abominable than the regular Jupiler.

Has a pale blond colour. Light malty aroma and taste. A bit stale. Not much going for it.
