You’ll be greeted by a warming aroma of roasted malt and dark chocolate, followed by sweet vanilla and caramel. 330ml can via Beer52, poured into my Gordons thistle shaped glass at home late on 2nd December 2025 (my 72nd Birthday). Black bodied, tanned topping. Didn't get any cake and certainly no Swiss Roll in my can. Semi sweet feel and maybe some chocolate hints within.

440ml can from Sainsbury's - Opaque black, no head. Dusty chocolate malt, some fruitiness, more roasted chocolate, but very very thin.

440ml can from Sainsbury's Chester. Gluten Free. Black dark brown colour, beige foam head and aroma of roast malt, chocolat, wafer. Taste is chocolatey, roasted malty, lactose, vanilla, with earthy bitterness. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, roasty chocolatey bitter finish. Quite drinkable

440ml can from Sainsbury's Broadstairs. Pours a deep dark colour, good beige head. Aroma of sweet adjunct, chocolatey malt. Flavour profile continues in this vein, some gentle lactose, chocolate shades, lingering sweetness that I suppose is the vanilla. Lacks a solid swiss roll definition, poor in that regard, no sponge cake as per the description.. sloppy flavour profile. Getting a desert beer right is difficult, and this falls short.
