Bottle. Etre Gourmet. Clear, deep red. Lovely looking, creamy, lacing, lasting, beige head. Nicely leggy, too. Nose has fig and raisin and prune. Some scorched grapefruit. Light cocoa notes. Tiny bit woody and smoky. Taste is soft, dried fruit sweet, with a smoky and charred citrus bitterness. Smooth and silky mouthfeel. Drinks well under the ABV. Finish gets a little fruity, tangy and slightly estery. Nice one.

Dark brown beer, orange highlights, under a medium, cream head, stable. Light roasted notes, faint hops. Nice citrussy, mildly fruity flavours. Medium bodied, quite slick. Nose didn’t present itself as such, but taste delivered bringing it to a pleasing, nice black IPA.

Bottle sampled at Essen Winterbier festival 2015. Appears cloudy dark brown with a medium tan head. Aroma of raisins, overripe dark fruit, rich malt, fruity hops, citrus and caramel. Slight herbal touch. Flavour is over moderate sweet and light to moderate bitter. Above medium bodied with soft carbonation.

Thank you! Sampled 750 ml. bottle @ Kerstbierfestival Essen 2015. Apparently features Mt. Hood according to the brewer, I assume other hops were used as well. Dark brown, touch black, small mocha bubbles. Nose is licorice, candy, sugar, light resinous hops, almost hint of cheese but largely in the back. Taste is sugar, licorice, candy, sweet dark fruit, syrupy, herbal, lots of syrup, light herbal hop in the back, light dark cheese, mocha. Syrupy, dash powdery body. Not really a BIPA in the usual sense, a nice beer, almost more porter-like.

Bottle at the Essen Winter Beer Festival, 2015. Poured a murky dark brown with a big frothy light tan head. The aroma is light coffee, light nettle hop. The flavour is moderate bitter with a woody hop, liqourice bitter palate. Medium bodied with lively carbonation and a bubbly mouthfeel.

28/11/2015 - 15cl sample of 75cl bottle @ WBF2015, Bierhalle Deconinck, Vichte - shared with tderoeck Is it the same or not as the WBF Winter Warmer 2015? Nose and taste were slightly different but that could be because of the temperature. Dark colour, no head. Nose is light roast, fruity. Taste is mild fruity hops and roast (less than in the WBF) here also some chocolate.

Sampeled at Winterbierfestival (vichte) Pours brown, small white head. Smell is mildly malty. Taste is bitter, malty, mild hop aroma. Some apsects of the dark malts rise to the top in this very well working blend. This is how black IPA’s should be like, in stead of the common plastic-like taste
