They say a bird in the hand is worth two in the bush, but if you’re talking about our White Raven, you can’t experience it from a distance. To even begin to fathom the hoppy extravagance of this IPA, you’ve got to grasp one for yourself. Enormous hop aromatics of tangerine, passion fruit, mango and pine are married to a complex malt backbone that works to provide both balance and drinkability.

Hazy deep amber. Medium head. Chewy with pine, orange. Touch of crystal malt but not so bad. Some alcohol, lots of bitterness. Not the most refined WCIPA but good enough.

Can from The Gull, North Vancouver; packaged 19 Oct, 1.5 months ago
Light brown / amber colour, cloudy. Mild fruit aroma (ripe orange and apple). Bready malt base, moderately sweet, not too overpowering; the hops have an orange character; expected bitterness.
Not very juicy if this was supposed to be a NEIPA, not very bright if this was supposed to be a WCIPA, but pleasant..

473mL can, pours a hazy dark amber with a medium beige head. Nose is classic west coast, with lots of resinous hops, a fair bit of pine, and chewy caramel malt. Flavour is on the malty side, but reveals a really nice resinous hops character, a little pine, and caramel malt. It's a touch maltier than optimal for me, but there isn't much residual sweetness. Really nicely made.

Can at Delta, Edmonton. Hazy dark amber with a small off white head that leaves sparse lace. Nose is pine and citrus with some light bread. Flavour follows with light bready sweetness and a big resin and citrus bitterness. Mouth is medium slick with average carbonation and a long bitter finish. 8/3+/8+/4/16

Light citrus and some foam. Pours hazy orange with great head and lacing. Easy drinking with decent balance, if nothing special like Christmas Marathon television.

On tap. Pours a hazy gold with a medium, frothy, long lasting, white head that laces. Sweet, fruity aroma of grapefruit, orange, tropical fruit, stone fruit and pine. Sweet flavour of grapefruit, orange, caramel malt, tropical fruit, stone fruit and pine with a dry, bitter, hoppy finish. Medium body with an oily texture and average carbonation. Very nice.
