We conducted a highly scientific study over the last few years and found that 95.3%* of "pumpkin" beers don't actually contain any real pumpkin. What gives? So, in response, we slaughtered over 200lbs of real pumpkin and brewed up this barleywine. Then we aged it in bourbon barrels with even more pumpkin, cinnamon, and Madagascar vanilla beans. So drink with caution because there's real pumpkin in this bottle (unlike the sea of wannabes out there).

Sampled on draft at Hou Thou this beer poured an orange-caramel color with a small foamy off white head that left no lacing. The aroma was bourbon, caramel, brown sugar and hints of coconut and honey. The flavor was bourbon, toasted caramel, booze, coconut, toasty malts, brown sugar and honey. Long finish. Moderately full bodied but undercarbonated. Solid.

Bottle thanks to Dan. Pours a mostly clear reddish color with a small white head. A big sour mash whiskey nose. The flavor is dominated by whiskey, spices, vanilla, not a ton of pumpkin. Interesting.

Bottle thanks to Russell. Pours a clear copper with no head. The aroma is strong cinnamon, spice, pumpkin, booze. Thin mouthfeel with strong candy sugar, booze, spice, pumpkin, very good.
