Black Eagle is a dark lager that is smoother than an ale porter. Our Baltic Porter’s flavors are characterized by cocoa, caramelized sugars, licorice, berries, grapes and low degree of smokiness. They are very lightly hopped with a medium to full bodied mouthfeel.

Roast and some caramel. Black pour with decent head. Bittersweet finish. Decent stuff like Gray Poupon. Tap at Churchkey.

On tap at VCBW Festival 2016, pours black with a small beige head. Aroma brings out vanilla notes and light cocoa. Flavour is quite big, with notes of vanilla and light caramel. Lots of lager yeast presence. Not overly complex, but it works well.

Medium brown. Aroma is a bit husky, grainy. Sweetish but light, roasty accent. Light body. Disappointing.

From a Howler purchased at Liquor Shed. $6.99.

Pours a near pitch black with an off white head of foam. Shrinks to a ring around the glass. Not pitch black cuz I can see through it near the bottom of the glass.

Smells roasty, has dark chocolate bitterness that could also include a bit of pine. Definitely not on the sweet side.

Taste is of roasted malt, dark chocolate, toffee, not noticing any sign of pine at all. Slightly sweeter than what the nose insinuated but by far, not a sweet brew. The cool thing aboot this Baltic Porter is how bloody smooth it is. Belies the abv. .

Medium body light carbonation.

Nice and easy drinking BP. Worthy of a repurchase.
