Petroleum-like colour. Small tan head. The aroma offers lots of smoke, iodine, oak, roasted malts. Full minus body. The taste is very intense. Lots of flavour. Medium sweet. The roasted malts play more important part here. Additional wood, smoke, vanilla. Light bitterness. This stuff is fairly flavourful. It just does not hit the spot of mine.

Aroma is nice with licorice and some soy sauce. Flavour has somewhat salty licorice, some herbal notes and some cocoa. Saltiness takes over after some sips. Too salty for my taste but not bad.

330ml bottle from Beergium. BBE 20210119. Pours pitch black with a brown head. Aroma of licorice, roastiness, dark chocolate, syrup and earthiness. Taste is stingy, heavy and sweetish with some licorice, dark chocolate, syrup and earthiness. Finish is heavy and earthy with some licorice, syrup and hints of saltiness. Heavy.

Bottle from Geers. Dark brown, almost black colour, beige foam. Roasty, lots of coffee, caramel, chocolate. Rather sweet, roasty bitterness in the finish. Nice stout.

Bierfestival Groningen 2017, Martinikerk, met Ulco van DKO, van tap zwart en nagenoeg kraagloos, aroma is peated/turf, geroostede en gebrande mouten, chocolade. Smaken evenzo, de turf is iets licht aan de band-aid kant maar niet overdreven, zacht, glad, redelijk zoet, redelijke uitgesproken, geroosterd, gebrand, chocolade, matige tot redelijke body, best ok dit.

Very alcoholic smell. Also in the taste, but less. Peaty, amazing if indeed only from the malts. Nice and thick, slightly smokey. Nice!

Many thanky to Erzengel for sharing! Pours almost black with a mid-sized good lasting tan head. Aroma of smoked dark malt, coffee and bourbon. Taste of dark smoked peated malt, coffe, ash, long bitter roasty finish.

Many thanks to Nisse666 for this bottle! Intense roasted in the nose. The beer starts very soft and smooth but very sweet as well - sticky sweet with lots of burned caramel. The sweetness is a bit too high for me, the coffee bitterness very nice and round, but sweet. The aftertaste is very soft and smooth but sweetish bitter. Interesting!

330 ml. bottle sampled @ home. BBF 20210321. Black, creamy dark tanned head. Nose is overly big on bark, old wet bark, too umami, soy sauce, herbal, near oxidation, wet cellar, herbal, black licorice,... Taste is all near oxidized wet bark, soy sauce, wet dog, black licorice, herbal, compost, cloying,... Herbal, wet bark, umami body, near oxidation,... Disappointing umami, soy sauce, near oxidation, wet rotting bark brew,... Not flavours that I dig in either this style or beer in general.
