Fresh Hop Pilsner - Hopped with Smaragd and Tettnanger

There's a crisp, bitter hoppiness, a rich maltiness and a refreshingly dry finish. It's fresh lemon zest, burnt caramel and peach ice tea. It pours the colour of an Autumn sunset, hues of auburn and ruby red. As we say in the North of England, it's proper Lush!

440ml can from RAD beer and drunk at home. Light yellowish gold and clear with a glorious pillowy white head. Spicy and lemony aroma, sourdough, sweet cooking spices. Taste is crisp and bittersweet, with a wonderful bitterness in the finish that is assertive without being harsh. Light body with medium carbonation. Very enjoyable.

can at home picked up from HOTM. An attractive golden orange coloured pour with a lovely rocky white head. Aroma is nice earthy pils malts, cereal, grassy leafy hop, light pine needle, lager notes, light dusty lager grains. Flavour is composed of crisp cereal , big assertive grassy hop, green liquorice, fennel, light metallic bite, earthy pils malts. Hop forward pils. Palate is super crisp , airy frothy carbonation, some resinous hops. Hops are a little too much. Out of balance.

440ml can. Clear golden with a big white head. Aroma of grassy and lemony hops, grainy malts. Taste is the same, grainy malt base with lemony citrus and grassy hop notes, mild caramel hints, a bit of peppery hop spice, very clean, crisp, with a moderate bitter finish. Really nice.
I suppose a lager of this quality is to be expected when you've got lager specialists Donzoko collaborating with a bunch of Germans.

0.44 l can from 'Craftbeershop.com', 5.0% abv, canned in October 2025. Slightly hazy, golden with a medium large, frothy, slowly diminishing, white head. Slightly sweetish, gently fruity-floral and a bit grassy aroma of grains, lemon peel and some fresh grass. Gently sweet, moderately bitter, moderately fruity-floral and a bit grassy-spicy taste of grains, straw, some lemon peel, light fresh grass and traces of white pepper, followed by a short, moderately bitter, slightly dry finish. Almost medium-bodied, smooth and slightly effervescent mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Pleasant lager, not overly hoppy, unfortunately.

8/XI/25 - on tap @ Billies Craft Beer Festival Day 2 - Session 2 (Antwerp), BB: n/a (2025-1250) Thanks to all for sharing today’s beers!

Clear orange blond beer, creamy white head, stable, adhesive, leaving a nice lacing in the glass. Aroma: very oxidized, lots of cardboard, grains, hay, cow fodder, smells like an African lager, and that’s never a good thing. MF: ok carbon, medium to light body. Taste: very malty, grains, hay, cow fodder, a bit sweet, oxidized, cardboard, soapy bitterness. Aftertaste: gentle bitterness, wort, grains, cow fodder, meh.
