Bourbon Barrel Aged w/ Coconut & Hazelnut. Smooth notes of hazelnut and toasted coconut give way to darker notes of roasted malts and bourbon heat. This stout is possessed with flavour.

On tap at Blood Brothers, pours jet black with a small tan head. Aroma is intense, with a ridiculous amount of coconut upfront, followed by subtle hazelnut and a touch of bourbon. Flavour is loaded with a ridiculous amount of coconut, intense sweetness, light hazelnut, and bourbon. That's mostly coconut for me, accentuated by the barrels. Very sweet, but not quite cloying. Excellent, but could be more refined.

(500ml bottle from the brewery) Pours deep brown to black with a small pale tan head and little retention or lacing. Aroma and flavor are both heavy on sweet roasted malt with molasses and brown sugar, some chocolate, a strangely creamy doughy or yeasty vibe that might actually be coconut, moderate bourbon, roast bitterness is low to moderate and hazelnut is not particularly evident amidst coffee and toasted grain. Overall quite sweet with only a little wood/alcohol drydown, gets a bit raisin-heavy when warm. Medium-plus bodied, very low carbonation. Solid, I know the bottle is a little older but the adjuncts weren't as punchy as I'd hoped and the yeast-like vibe was not to style.

Bottle: Poured a pitch-black color ale with a large brown foamy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma of heavy coconut notes with some sweet black chocolate and bourbon notes. Taste is also a mix of loads of coconut notes with some sweet black chocolate notes and bourbon notes with quite bit of residual sugar notes. Body is pretty full with oily texture and good carbonation with no real apparent alcohol notes. Enjoyable but coconut notes was quite heavy.

500ml bottle at SalesForce. Appearance: dark brown with a beige head. Aroma: some coconut and barrel as well some brett-ish notes. Taste: quite sweet, along the same lines. Overall: still good, but might be infected.

Dark brown. Thin head. There's a bit of coconut on the nose. On the palate, it's coconut and a light tartness. Some nuts...not sure I'd pick up the hazelnut specifically. So while conceptually this should be awesome it's a bit on the lighter side of life.

Black colour. Thick, sweet, chocolatey, with strong alcohol, Bourbon flavour, spirit, vanilla. Very good pastry stout.

Deep inky black like the spiced stout with a big bourbon and hazelnut aroma. Full bodied but with a semi-dry finish you’ve got a sort of buttery rich hazelnut cream flavor, coconut and sharp bourbon at the start. Good stuff.
