A “Pippin” is a type of tree that grew from an errant seed, producing well-balanced apples that are perfect for cidermaking. Pippins focal varietal is the Yellow Newton Pippin and is off-dry, sharp and fruity, with notes of confectionary and pineapple.

Aroma of sweet tart apples, light floral honey notes, and some slight sweet pears too. Solid mouth feel, and good carb. Tart finish, apples skins and fresh apple flesh. Nice stuff.

Good yellow body but no foam, soft apples of no distinction on the nose. Flavour is apples and earthiness, chewy sweetness. Crisp on the mouth. Rather standard but drinkable.

750ml bottle pours a watery gold with no head. Nose has apples, mild honey, green apple skin. Flavor of apple, candlewax, some mild spice. Watery finish.

From a 750ml bottle at the DC tasting on March 25, 2016. Poured a very clear yellow color, small fizzy white head, then mostly still. Aromas was dry, semi-sweet apples, pears. Light alcohol, apples. Refreshing.

Bottle someone shared at the DC Tasting on 3/25/2016. Clear whitish yellow with off-white head. Aromas and tastes of apples and champagne. Light body with a dry finish.

Bottle. Pours a straw color with lots if carbonation. Aromas of apple pie. Flavors of fresh crisp golden apples and a little champagne. Simple but intense and really nice.
