An old school IPA, bitter and resin.

At a tasting, thanks, stable long lasting creamy head, clear quite deep orange color, aroma of hay and herbs, flavor of candy with jammy hints anda herbal bitterness, very little carbonation, feels quite heavy. feels a bit old though its probably not. Fair but not too interesting.

Pours hazy dark golden color with white head. Aromas of caramel, pine, and earthy hops. Similar flavors. Medium body with minimal carbonation. Meh.

Draft at Buffalo Wild Wings. Murky orange with a thick, creamy head. Fairly subtle aroma hides under that thick, creamy head. Some citrus notes, a bit of floral and pine as well. Lightly sweet, lightly bitter. Very creamy. Decent. Interesting to give an IPA the nitro treatment, bit for this particular IPA I think the flavors are a little too subtle to hold up.

The nitro is evident in the palate and the appearance. Decent ipa otherwise, dry and bitter, grassy hops, dry, herbal character. High abv is hidden. Good.

15 ounce can into imperial pint glass, best before 5/2016. Pours lightly hazy/cloudy golden orange color with a 2 finger dense and creamy off white head that lasts the entire glass. Thick lacing clings down the glass as you drink. Fantastic appearance. Aromas of big grapefruit, tangerine, pineapple, mango, passion fruit, lemon zest, orange peel, citrus rind, pepper, pine, light caramel, bread, herbal, and floral/grassy earthiness. Nice aromas with good balance and complexity of juicy citrus/tropical/earthy hops and moderate bready malt notes; with good strength. Taste of big grapefruit, tangerine, pineapple, mango, passion fruit, lemon zest, orange peel, citrus rind, pepper, pine, light caramel, bread, herbal, and floral/grassy earthiness. Good amount of pine/citrus rind/spicy bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of grapefruit, tangerine, pineapple, mango, passion fruit, lemon/orange rind, pepper, pine, bread, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness on the finish for a while. Nice complexity, robustness, and balance of juicy citrus/tropical/earthy hops and moderate bready malt flavors; with a good malt/bitterness balance; with some light building hop astringency after the finish; but it is not unpleasant. Moderate dryness from bitterness that increases through the glass. Light carbonation and medium body; with a very smooth, sticky/resinous, and fairly bready/creamy balanced mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is very well hidden with minimal warming present after the finish. Overall this is a nice nitro IPA. All around good complexity, robustness, and balance of juicy citrus/tropical/earthy hops and moderate bready malt flavors; and very smooth and easy to drink, even with the aggressive bitterness. A nicely enjoyable offering.

Pours clear gold into a Sam glass. Beautiful white nitro head. Sour citrus and mint aromas. Soft and creamy, but with nasty caramel and nuts upfront turning to bitter pith and sourdough in the lasting finish.

16 oz. can from a four pack. Clear orange in color after the Nitro subsides. Aroma is grapefruity, with traces of earthy pine and stale malts.

The flavor is a balance of stale malts with a abrasive pine and floral bitterness. I am surprised at the amount of bold bitterness. The mouthfeel is nice of course but the different hop varieties don’t really mesh well together. Harsh abrasive hops with stale malts; not really a winning combination here.
